The XL American Bully is a relatively new breed that was first established in the early 21st century. However, the XL Bully traces its roots back to the Bullies of the past, such as the English Bulldog, various Mastiff breeds, and the American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier. XL Bullies were bred to be larger than other types of Bullies, and they quickly gained popularity among Bully breeders and enthusiasts. Today, XL Bullies are one of the most popular types of Bullies, and they are frequently used as working dogs, show dogs, and family pets. XL Bullies typically weigh between 70 and 120 pounds, and they stand between 17 and 22 inches tall at the shoulder. XL Bullies come in a wide variety of colors & patterns including black, blue, lilac, chocolate, merle, tricolor, white, champagne, piebald, brindle, and fawn.

The Bully breed is recognized by both the ABKC (American Bully Kennel Club) and the UKC (United Kennel Club). There are also newer kennel clubs that recognize the American Bully as a separate breed, as they were at one time registered as American Pit Bull Terriers.
The XL American Bully is considered a companion breed. However, many XL Bully owners report having excellent service dogs, hunting & sporting dogs, emotional support dogs, therapy dogs, guard/protection dogs, and even police K9s and other working dogs

Without a doubt, the XL Bully breed is here to stay, and with time XL Bully breeders will only produce an even bigger & better dog than the generations before.
